week four

In celebration of the Casa’s 60th Anniversary, we pray in thanksgiving for its social justice teaching and ministries that have led us to address the needs of our local community and the world. We pray for those whom this community has served. We pray that their lives are better because of us and that we have been transformed by our service.

This week, in celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Franciscan Renewal Center, we remember all of the Advent seasons of our lives when we have been asked to change in preparation for Christ’s continual coming into our hearts.

  1. I am grateful to all the people at the Casa who have called me, begged me, preached to me, shown me by example and challenged me to serve others. What has been true for me is that the smallest act of service has come to change and transform me much more than I have impacted others. Thanks to many people, I can no longer look at the world from the narrow vision of self. My heart has been softened, I have been given grace in my life and I have been awakened by the efforts of others. Thank you Kathy Salle, Fr Peter, Fr. Joe, Fr. Larry, Fr. Alex,Fr. Gino, Fr. Eddie, Fr.Anthony and most recently Patti Sills-Traush for the call to service. There are so many Casa community members who have heeded the call to service and inspired me that I would have to publish a directory of their names to be sure to thank them all.
